Competent authority to finalize the purchase

The purchase case, can be finalized by any of the following competent authorities

• Rate contract cases shall be invariably approved by the Government. But where the approximate turn over exceeds Rs. 5 lacs, approval of High Powered Committee should be obtained
• The cases of adhoc purchases will be finalized by the relevant Standing Purchase Committees or Special Purchase Committee if any constituted by Government. Cases involving purchases of Rs. 5 lacs or more are decided by High Powered Committee headed by Chief Minister
• In case of departments or items of stores for which no S.P.C. has been constituted, the purchase case will be finalized by the competent authority according to the delegation of financial powers as given in Chapter XV
